Un rang "complet" au crochet tunisien est constitué d'un rang aller (pour accumuler les boucles sur le crochet) et d'un rang retour (pour couler/rabattre les boucles).
A "full" row in Tunisian crochet is made of a forward pass (to pick up loops on the hook) and a return pass (to work the loops off the hook).
Des rangs contrastés de couleurs différentes sont réalisés en faisant un rang aller et un rang retour dans une couleur et en changeant de couleur juste avant le rang aller suivant. Je partage une astuce à ce propos dans un article précédent.
Solid stripes are created by making a forward pass and a return pass in one colour, then changing to the new colour just before the start of a new forward pass. I shared a tip about this in a previous post.
Une autre approche pour jouer avec les couleurs est de faire ce changement avant de commencer le rang retour. L'effet visuel est tout autre. Il n'y a plus de lignes distinctes, mais plutôt un mélange de deux couleurs.
Another way to work with different colours is to switch to the new colour when you start a return pass. The visual effect is completely different. There is no solid stripe. It's more like a mix of 2 colours.

Je vous encourage à expérimenter d'autres points avec un changement de couleur au rang retour. Personnellement, un des points que je préfère et que j'utilise souvent, c'est le point simple modifié. L'effet visuel est encore tout autre. Le mélange de 2 couleurs est comme adouci.
Do try and experiment this change of colour before the return pass with other stitches.
One of my favourite stitches is the modified Tunisian simple stitch. I use it a lot and the visual effect is different from what you get with the Tss. The mix of 2 colours is smoother.

Mais ce qui me plaît particulièrement avec le pts mod, c'est l'effet sur la structure de l'ouvrage. Les tractions et tensions sont mieux réparties d'un rang à l'autre car chaque nouvelle boucle relevée est ancrée dans un brin du rang aller précédent et dans un brin du rang retour précédent.
Cette répartition des tensions est remarquable sur l'envers de l'ouvrage.
What I mostly like about the mod Tss is the texture. Tension in the fabric is more even, better balanced from one row to the next when each picked up loop on a forward pass is rooted in a front loop from the previous forward pass and the upper loop of the chain from the previous return pass.
It may not be obvious on the front side of the fabric, but have a look at the back side of the swatch.
