Compter les points au crochet tunisien / Count Tunisian crochet stitches

Avant de commencer un projet au crochet tunisien, il est toujours plus sage de faire un échantillon pour voir si le nombre de points correspond aux dimensions indiquées dans les instructions.
Before starting a Tunisian crochet project, it is always wiser to make a swatch, a sample to assess whether the number of stitches you work match with the measurements indicated in the pattern instructions.

Mais compter les points, ce n'est pas aussi facile qu'il n'y parait de prime abord.
But counting stitches is not as obvious and easy as it may seem at first.

Dans l'échantillon ci-dessous, combien y a-t-il de points?
Pour faire simple, je prends uniquement les points de base en considération. Les points composés sont volontairement écartés de cet article.
In the sample below, how many stitches do you count? To keep it simple, I only take basic stitches into account. I do not take stitch combinations into account in this post on purpose.

Il y a 5 boucles sur le crochet. Mais une boucle ne veut pas dire un point.
We count 5 loops on the hook. But a loop is not the same as a stitch.

4 "couloirs"
4 "lanes"

Il y a 4 "couloirs" délimités par des barres verticales. Donc, on pourrait se dire que le rang compte 4 points.
We count 4 "lanes" marked by vertical bars. So we could say each row counts 4 stitches.

Il y a donc une barre verticale en lisière à ignorer dans le comptage. Laquelle?
So there is a vertical bar on one edge that should be disregarded. Which one?

A une époque, je comptais les points de barre verticale en barre verticale en commençant par la toute première en début de rang aller et en ignorant la lisière en fin de rang. Facile à faire avec le point tunisien simple.
There used to be a time when I would count stitches jumping from one vertical bar to the next, starting with the very first vertical bar at the beginning of the forward pass and ignoring the edge stitch at the end of the row. Easy to count Tunisian simple stitches this way.

Nettement moins facile avec le point tunisien tricot. Les mailles lisières n'ont pas exactement la même forme que les autres mailles du même rang.

Et quand il s'agit du point tunisien envers, les mailles lisières n'ont plus du tout la même forme que les points envers.
And when you work in Tunisian purl stitches, the first and last stitches on the edges do not look at all like the other stitches in the same row.

J'ai donc pris l'habitude de compter les points, quels qu'ils soient, séparément des mailles lisières. La façon dont je le vois, cet échantillon compte: 1 maille lisière, 3 points simples et une maille lisière.
So I got into the habit of counting stitches, no matter which type of stitches, separately from the edge stitches. The way I see it, the sample above counts: 1 edge stitch, 3 Tunisian simple stitches and 1 edge stitch.
